Intermittent closures set for Little Pine Island Bridge Friday

MATLACHA, Fla. – There will be intermittent closures of the Little Pine Island Bridge Friday, March 14, to allow crews to accept deliveries of slab beams to the worksite and unload onto the barge. There will be one delivery on this day. The delivery will begin at approximately 3 a.m. There will be six trucks in total spaced at least 15 minutes apart. It will take approximately two minutes to stop each truck and offload onto the barge. Flaggers will be present on both sides of the bridge to clear traffic in between deliveries to lessen the impact to motorists on and off the island.
