Following in the footsteps of last year's Guitar Fest for Veterans, the Ragged Ass Saloon recently held its second annual "fest" -- Rock Fest for Veterans. The event raised $10,258.

Heather Swartz, owner of Old Florida Outpost, helped organize the event.

"Saturday's 50/50 winners were Don and Julie Hayford and Sun-day's 50/50 winner was Hi Tec Con-crete," Swartz said. "Both donated their winnings back to the help the veterans. The total for the event was $10, 258."

The entertainment this year included local bands Hillbilly Ryezin, Brother Love, Siren Says and Backlash and two nationally renowned tribute bands, Shot Down in Flames and Nightrain International.

The after party was held at Froggy's both nights.

The Wounded Warrior Project will benefit from the event. Wounded Warrior Project serves veterans and service members who've incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military on or after Sept. 11, 2001.
