Police need help identifying scooter theft suspects

October 16, 2019
Pine Island Eagle

The Cape Coral Police Department's Property Crimes Unit is seeking the public's help in identifying a pair of suspects who pushed away a scooter/moped from a local nightspot.

According to the CCPD, on Oct. 5, at around 9 p.m., two white male suspects stole a Honda Ruckus moped valued at $2,000 at 915 S.E. 47th Terrace (Backstreets Sports Bar). They did so by pushing the vehicle away, as the keys were not with the moped. The pair were captured on surveillance video both inside and outside the bar.

Anyone who may be able to identify the suspects in these still photos and video (use the link below), please contact Detective Costa with the Cape Coral Police Department's Property Crimes Unit at (239) 574-0648. You can also submit an anonymous tip. Go to www.capecops.com/tips or text a tip: text CCPD+"Your Message" to CRIMES (274637). Finally, you can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
