Beacon of HOPE receives ‘thank you’ award

Kimberly Fay, campaign account manager for the United Way of Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee, stopped by the Beacon of HOPE last week to deliver a big "thank you" award.

"I just want to thank all of you for all the hard work you do for your community," Fay said. "We wanted to recognize all you have done to help us reach our 2018-2019 goal."

The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee had a goal of $10.3 million for 2018.

"As you know, the Beacon of HOPE had a 43% increase last year," Fay said. "Not only did we reach our goal, we exceeded it," Fay said. "The grand total was $10.4 million and we wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for making our community a better place for all of us."
