Catch ‘em & Cook ‘em: Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Ingredients:

1 1/2 lbs round steak cut into 1 inch pieces

1 (8 oz) pkg sliced fresh mushrooms

1 C sliced onion

1 C sliced celery

1 Tbsp minced garlic

1 (14.5 oz) can fire-roasted diced tomatoes

1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

1/2 C water

1 (.87 oz) pkg brown gravy mix

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

How to:

1. In a 4 - 6 quart slow cooker, combine steak, mushrooms, onion, celery and garlic.

2. In a medium bowl, combine tomatoes, tomato sauce, 1/2 C water, gravy mix, salt and pepper.

3. Pour over steak mixture.

4. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

5. Serve over mashed potatoes with a mixed green salad.

Makes 4 6 servings
