Thank you to all my Pine Island angels

Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart to three Pine Island angels: Melinda Plumstead, Melissa Bradford and Faith Sorrenson.

On Saturday, April 28, around noon, someone hit my 1-year-old black kitty (Bokie) (short for Bokeelia) and left her for dead in front of Charlotte Shores. Melinda and Melissa found my badly battered Bokie and rushed her to a clinic. They sent the two angels and Bokie away.

Not knowing what to do, they stopped at Sweeney's S.O.S. Soap store and asked if anyone knew me. Faith Sorrenson, the third angel, came to their rescue saying, "follow me to Viscaya-Prado Vet Hospital in the Cape." Now the three angels, with Bokie in tow in a plastic tote bed they made her and still trying to climb out, all rushed to the vet hospital.

All the while I'm at Health Park Hospital with my expecting daughter all weekend and unreachable. Viscaya-Prado Hospital finally called me and said they worked on Bokie for two hours and sadly she didn't make it.

The angels then came back to Bokeelia, found my house and left a note and the vets card. I couldn't pick Bokie up until Monday morning and when I did the vet didn't charge a dime yet more angels.

We are so blessed to have these caring and courageous angels on Pine Island. Thank you all from Bokie and her loving family.

Sadly,

Mel Meo

P.S.: My daughter is OK no baby yet
