Needless vandalism at CW Fudge

July 26, 2017
Pine Island Eagle

To the editor:

It was devastating to learn of the needless vandalism that occurred over the weekend to CW Fudge. The owners, William and Carlos, could not be more generous with their donations and time to the Pine Island community. They actively participate in all of the Matlacha Hookers fundraising activities as well as many of the other Island events to benefit our community.

Not surprisingly, William's comments were focused on hoping that the lone man who allegedly committed the vandalism, gets the help needs rather than anger or retaliation. He is always positive and looking for the good in people. We need an Island filled with more like him.

I'd like to urge those of you who haven't visited CW Fudge to stop by and wish them well as they clean up and repair the damage to their store. It's a great place for cards, island memorabilia and, of course, awesome fudge, truffles, pralines and sweets. And the best part is you'll always be greeted with a genuine smile!
