This year's 5th Annual Wine Tasting event hosted by the Matlacha Hookers to benefit the Beacon of HOPE's Seniors Programs on Pine Island will be held at the Alden Pines Country Club Sunday, Feb. 19, from 2- 5 p.m.
"We have a very exciting theme this year," volunteer Tina Bush said. "Our theme this year is 'Veni, Vidi, Vino' - I came. I saw. I wined."
The Matlacha Hookers are inviting everyone to escape for the afternoon to the Hookers Italian Vineyard! The event will feature an Italian-themed venue with appetizers and sweet treats, six wines and champagne with an exclusive hand-painted wine glass.
Live music, silent auction items, mystery wine bottles for purchase, an original artwork by Mel Meo and much more will also be featured.
"We only have 50 tickets left," Bush said. "Each year we have seen this event grow and become a tradition on Pine Island - a tradition that helps our seniors through the Beacon of HOPE's Senior Programs. As an organization, the Matlacha Hookers are proud to host this event on their behalf. This is a great opportunity to raise money for those in need on our beautiful island!"
All of the proceeds will benefit the Beacon of HOPE Seniors Program, which offers assistance with medical deductibles, Meals on Wheels, rent, water and phone, mammograms, lab work and prescriptions, dental care, food cards for in-between food stamps, support for grandparents who have to become parents, gas money for interviews and doctor appointments; property taxes, personal hygiene products, renew drivers license and senior events, such as balance, memory, health insurance and end of life care.
Tickets are only $35 per person and are available at Stonegate Bank, The Beacon of HOPE, and Island Girl Fitness Club and CW Fudge. Call 239-244-4434.
