Eric "Keeper" Cole Bauer's life path was determined the very day he entered into this world. Born on April 4, 1987 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida
The doctor held up baby Eric and stated, "he's a keeper!". The nickname could not have been more fitting as the baby boy grew up to be a lover of the sea, making it his hobby and life's work.
Eric "Keeper" Cole Bauer passed away on November 28, 2016. He was 29 years old. In his all too short time on this earth, Eric grew up on the waters of Goodland and Pine Island, Florida. He worked diligently with his father, Ricky Bauer, on their soft shell farm, St. James Soft Shells. He was a natural at the family business. In the meantime, he would fish for fun and spend time with his family and friends. His smile and his laugh could always light the room. His first love soon became his second after his daughter, Bailey Blanchetta Bauer was born in 2008. She was the true light of his life.
Eric is preceded in life by his father Frederick (Ricky) Bauer Jr. He leaves behind his mother, Nicolette Rae Bauer, daughter Bailey Blanchetta Bauer, sister Blanche Nicole Bauer, and niece Hayden Nicole Brisson. He will be missed by so many.
His family would like to invite everyone to join in a celebration of his life at Wesley United Methodist Church, 350 South Barfield Drive, Marco Island, on Tuesday, December 20 at 11:00 am. A reception will be held immediately after the ceremony at The Little Bar Restaurant, 205 Harbor Drive, Goodland, Florida. All are welcome to attend and share stories and memories of "Keeper".
