Le Berry, owner of Le's Oriental Cuisine, has sold the restaurant and retired.

"It's very hard standing on your feet 12 hours a day," Berry said. "I'm looking forward to my retirement."

Le Berry spent the first part of her life in Vietnam where she met Al Berry, an engineer with the U.S. Army. When Saigon fell on April 30, 1975 Le "packed my suitcase and got out of Vietnam." Berry and her husband settled in Indiana for 20 years.

"We came to Pine Island to visit with friends," Berry said. "I fell in love with the place. I opened the restaurant 22 years ago and never looked back. It was very difficult to go through the process of getting the permits to open a restaurant but after a year we finally opened."

Le Berry opened "Le's Oriental Cuisine" using her own recipes. "I didn't want to copy anyone else's recipes," Berry said. "I wanted to use my own recipes and it really paid off. As the only Oriental restaurant the people of Pine Island welcomed us with open arms."

"I really want to thank the people of Pine Island for their support over the years," said Berry, who sold last month.
